Our Grants

Our funding focuses on increasing participation, belonging and sustainability across sport, movement and the performing arts, prioritising children and young people who face the greatest barriers to taking part.

 

BRENT PLACE-BASED FUND

Wembley Stadium stands as a global icon rooted in the community of Brent.

Through our partnership with Brent Council, we are backing a wave of community-led activity across the borough.

Our support for Love Where You Live, a community grants programme awarding grants to Brent-based residents and community groups, is powering local pride and belonging, creating opportunities locally.

TARGETED FUND

We award multi-year funding to organisations across England tackling the access gap in sport, movement and the performing arts.

Targeted grants prioritise children and young people who face barriers such as (but not limited to) disability, gender, race or socio-economic disadvantage.

Project grants enable our partners to test new ideas or strengthen existing projects and capacity, creating lasting impact within their communities and helping more young people to play, move, create and perform.

Communities Fund

Strategic funding supporting thousands of young people across Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle to get active and express themselves.

In the build-up to UEFA EURO 2028 UK & Ireland, the Fund is helping to close the access gap in football, music and other sports and creative activities across the nation, so that more young people feel a sense of ownership and pride in their city, deepening community belonging, and building a legacy for sport and performing arts.

Between 2026-28, place-based community grants will be delivered by our expert local partners, reaching grassroots youth projects across each city, and selected national youth charities will unite young people across the nation through inspirational engagement programmes.

Wembley Connects Initiatives

Alongside our grants, we are helping more young people feel connected to their national stadium. Initiatives include: 

  • Support for the Wembley Learning Zone, delivered in partnership with The FA and Brent Council, which brings local children to the stadium for free. 
  • Our annual Kit Giveaway, providing hundreds of grassroots youth teams with free football kit and removing a financial barrier for thousands of young people. 
  • Our Foundation Box at Wembley, giving children and young people the chance to experience the magic of a match day at the stadium. 

 

HOW WE WORK

We aim to be a supportive, approachable and collaborative funding partner, building long-term relationships with organisations we fund.

We aim to make processes clear, proportionate and accessible and communicate clearly about timelines, priorities and eligibility. We are committed to learning and continually seek feedback to improve our application processes and grantee experience.  

We recognise that our partners value sustainable grant-making approaches. Where possible, we aim to award multi-year funding, as well as connecting our partners with opportunities, networks and capacity-building support that can help strengthen their long-term sustainability. 

Our approach is informed by IVAR’s open and trusting grant-making principles.
